"The Three Mascot-teers" is the thirty-fifth episode of the second season (and eighty-seventh episode overall) of Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja. It premiered on May 11, 2015.

Synopsis[]

When Howard is chosen to be the new school mascot, Randy learns it's not always fun to be the best friend of the costumed hero of Norrisville High.[1]

Plot[]

Norrisville High supposedly has a soccer match against the defending team, the Pitch Kickhams, but this turns out to be the famous soccer player Pitch Kickham himself instead. Doug is playing the Fighting Carp mascot of Norrisville High, but when he starts chanting, everyone ignores him, whereas when Howard starts shouting out Randy's whispered jokes, convulsing the student body with laughter.

Principal Slimovitz goes to Randy and Howard about replacing Doug, and, as the second game begins, the principal introduces them as the new mascots. When Pitch scores a goal, Randy and Howard start mocking him for ripping his shirt off.

During half-time break, Slimovitz tells Randy and Howard that the school code allows only one mascot on the field (a rule to which Doug has drawn his attention). Both boys covet the position, but Howard seizes it for himself. Randy, who asks the Nomicon to confirm his belief that Howard is in the wrong, is told, "Harmony Cannot Be Made With A Single Note."

Misinterpreting the Nomicon's lesson as usual, Randy steals Howard's act as "The Tummynator" by locking Howard in the locker room. Slimovitz announces half-time by sending Randy out instead of Doug, enabling the Sorcerer to stank the distraught ex-mascot. Randy as the new mascot starts cracking jokes, but the audience cannot hear him and starts booing and throwing tomatoes.

Stanked Doug goes on a rampage of revenge. Meanwhile, Howard manages to escape the locker room, and both boys argue about the mascot situation. Randy starts fighting stanked Doug. Slimovitz suggests that the Ninja destroy the scoreboard, but it turns out that is not what needs to be Destanked: instead, because the Tummynator stole Doug's act, Howard must confess that Doug is actually the best mascot in order to destank him.

After everything is settled, Randy and Howard go to the shower to clean themselves up, confessing their faults to one another. Doug comes out of the shower still wearing his mascot costume; when Doug slips and falls, Howard and Randy both roar with laughter at his helplessness of being pecked by birds again.
