Synopsis[]

When Randy and Howard get Principal Slimovitz fired, a computer-based program takes his place and traps the students in a simulated world of forced learning.[1]

Plot[]

Randy and Howard are getting late in class, but both get caught by Principal Slimovitz for running in the hallways. As the bell rings, both boys end up late in class, with Slimovitz sending both to his office at lunch. During lunch time, Slimovitz talks to the both of them about the school's rules for his meeting with the school board in which they teach him about their rules, when Randy puts ketchup packets in Slimovitz's school rule-book. As Slimovitz closes his book, the ketchup packets squirt into Slimovitz's face, which causes him to panic. This induces trouble in the school, by making other students throw their books and destroying the property.

Slimovitz later receives his review from the school board, who is angry for what he did, by showing what happened earlier. Intolerant to his mistake, the school board then fires Slimovitz from his job, after telling him that Norrisville High has been chosen to take part in a experimental program for a new principal.

The next day, Miss Driscoll gives students educational headwears, after Slimovitz was Fired. As the students wear and activate their head-gears, they're introduced to the new principal Todd Principal, who is detyermined to make the school better. Meanwhile, Slimovitz, who is retrieving his belongs, discovers that the new principal is a robot. He, however, is then thrown in the janitor's closet by Buttermaker and Mick, before he can retaliate.

During the simulation, Randy and Howard feel weird about the way Bash, who normally speaks in broken sentences, is talking to them. Back in the real school, Slimovitz keeps pounding on the janitor's closet's door, and crawls in a fetal position, when he notices some McFist items, which are for communications, in a box. Concurrently, Randy and Howard are a bit suspicious about the simulation that the students and adults are acting weird and different than they usually behave, especially when Howard realizes he has just referred to Doug by full name. Slimovitz manages to get into the simulation with the McFist communicational items, and tells the boys that the new principal is a not real human, but a computer robot whose trying to force students' academic potential. To destroy the robot's "educational utopia", Slimovitz gives randy and Howard some virtual ketchup packets to help them get out of the simulation.

Both boys then use the packets on Doug, causing Doug to panic upon being squirted, in which they use this opportunity as an exit of the simulation. Randy and Howard, having exited the simulation, then find Slimovitz, who is trapped in the janitor's closet. In retaliation, Todd Principal (P.A.L) uses mind control on the other students and transform them into robots through the head-wears, in order to capture Randy and Howard. Randy, after transforming into the Ninja, heads to the office to fight against the armed students, while Slimovitz goes to the simulation to face off against the Todd Principal as a challenge to see who can be the better principal. While Ninja faces against the brainwashed students, Howard goes to the simulation to help out Slimovitz.

Howard returns to the simulation to help Slimovitz against Todd Principal, but Slimovitz is at a disadvantage agsint Todd Principal's more elaborate answers. Ninja, meanwhile, almost gets to enter the principal's office, but is stopped by the brainwashed. During the simulation, Slimovitz loses, and Todd Principal is about to erase him from reality, until Howard counters Todd with a question about running in the hallways. Due to being unable to consider circumstantial reasoning unlike Slimovitz, Todd begins to glitch, leading to Slimovitz winning the challenge. Todd accepts his defeat and deactivates the head-gears, returning the students to normal. Just as Todd finally has an epiphany, Ninja leaps into the office, and destroys Todd's main computer hardware, hence melting and splitting Todd's face, which is gruesome enough to traumatize both Slimovitz and Howard.

In the end, Slimovitz is reinstated as the principal, albeit with a 20% pay-cut. He is grateful for Randy and Howard, who both have saved him from Todd, although he decides to give them his own fair share of payback on how they also have caused him to be previously fired in the first place. After forcing the boys to recite the rule-books until they remember before they leave, Slimovitz then kicks back and relax for once, lauding himself as the "best principal".

Trivia[]

Steamboat Bill Jr
  • The scene in which the façade of the Norrisville High School building falls down around the Nameless Boy with Red Shirt without harming him is a reference to a famous invented by silent comedian Buster Keaton for the 1928 film Steamboat Bill, Jr.
  • Marci McFist, Gene Levine, Dr. Feinstein, and Dr. Sam are seen in cameos in this episode, which also revealed them as members of the school board.
  • Paul Reubens, who voiced Todd Principal in this episode, previously guest star on the Disney XD animated series Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero as The Milk Man.
    • In fact, this episode aired two months after the Penn Zero episode "Cereal Criminals". Both episodes coincidentally have Penn and Randy fighting against the aforementioned villainous characters, who are mentioned to be voiced by Reubens.
  • Megan Mullally, who voiced Mrs. Driscoll, and Paul Reubens, who voiced Todd Principal in this episode, were reunited after their previous roles in the 2004 film Teacher's Pet as Dennis and Adele.
  • The computer principal being called "P.A.L." and its single glowing red "eyes" are references to the HAL-9000 computer in Stanley Kubrick's 1968 science fiction film, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
  • It's revealed by Slimovitz that Mick's real name is "Nicholas."
  • The scene where the holographic Slimovitz tells Randy and Howard, "You're my only hope," before glitching out is a reference to a similar scene in Star Wars (1977), where a holographic Princess Leia uses the same words in a recorded message to Obi-Wan Kenobi.
  • The scene where Slimovitz and Todd Principal playing a rules game has a similar setup to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
  • Aside from Paul Reubens, Ice T also guest-starred in this episode, as the voice actor of the Superintendent.
