Synopsis[]

Howard’s dad Mort thinks Ninja is out to get him, leading to an epic Mort vs. Ninja battle![2]

Plot[]

Due to Mort, Heidi and Mrs. Weinerman being out of the Weinerman Household's home during this Saturday, Howard and Randy make a whole mess in the house while binge-playing video games. Mort momentarily returns from his office to use the restroom and sees the mess made. Despite his usually mild temper, he is incensed at his son and his son's best friend for having messed up the living room, and instructs his son to clean it up and further punish him by grounding him, while also telling off Randy to go home. After Howard makes a failed lie of the Ninja trashing the house, he calls Randy to transform and actually mess with Mort's office. Succumbing to peer pressure, Randy submits to Howard's unreasonable request due to not realizing Howard's sarcasm, while also trying to find a loophole in the situation and ignoring the Nomicon's lesson of

"He who deserves the blame must blame himself."

While Viceroy introduces the Stero-dactyls to McFist, Ninja sneaks into Mort's office just to leave a note on apologizing for trashing the living room, only to be discovered by a Robo-Ape who sounds off the alarm. He ends up actually destroying the office to fend off the hordes of Robo-Apes, while also having to flee from more Robo-Ape hordes before he can find the note, so he etches the damaged desk of apologizing for destroying both the office and the house. Mort ends up becoming extremely paranoid, so he promptly ungrounds Howard in fear of his son getting hurt by the Ninja, only to realize his son is exploiting this chance to go to the Game Hole.

After Mort encounters Ninja at the car park and hears Ninja to say hi to his own family, he believes the Ninja is going to harm Howard and becomes irrational enough to ride the Stero-dactyls just to attack the Ninja. Just as Ninja meets up with Howard, both boys realize Mort has been riding one of the Stero-dactyls and aiming at the Ninja himself. At first, McFist and Viceroy aren't too pleased with how one Stero-dactyl is missing, but then they are overjoyed to see how Mort has captured the Ninja, and thus deploy more Stero-dactyls with Robo-Apes as pilots. Howard wants his best friend to destroy the shoob in the Stero-dactyl, until he realizes Mort is the pilot and changes his mind.

Watching how Mort is recklessly charging at Mt. Chuck, Ninja realizes that if he doesn't tell Howard to admit that he and Ninja's own civilian identity Randy were the ones who messed up, Mort and Ninja would both crash and perish. Howard finally submits to Ninja's request reluctantly and admits to Mort about the truth, although mostly blaming Randy. Angered by Howard's lie, Mort is too riled up and breaks the steering wheel by accident, while he is attacked by the Robo-Apes aerially. Fortunately, with Ninja's quick thinking, Mort is saved from any potential crash, despite Mort himself still being mad at Howard, while Viceroy is again frustrated by McFist's dumbness on how the Stero-dactyls work.

After spending three hours to clean up the living room of the Weinerman house, Howard complains about having to waste their time, even though Randy believes things would've turned out better if they admitted the truth earlier. Unfortunately, a giant Robo-Lizard arrives and thrashes the living room for real, while Randy, after transforming into Ninja, struggles to contain the lizard. Howard then grumbles on how Mort will still refuse to believe the truth this time as the screen is shrouded in smokes.

Trivia[]

  • The title is a reference to the video game franchise Mortal Kombat.
  • The Robo-Pterodactyl/Stero-dactyls is a reference to the "Gravity Ptera" model from the anime "Zoids".
  • In the scene where Randy throws a smoke bomb at the Stero-dactyls, he said, “Aha yes” which sounds exactly the same to when Randy faked being sick in "Randy Cunningham's Day Off".
  • The scene where Randy throw his chain sickles at the Stero-dactyls, he didn't say "Ninja Chain-Sickles" as he normally would, likely due to the situation being an emergency.
  • Randy's room's appearance is shown in its initial design from "Last Stall on the Left".
  • The Nomicon quotation in the episode seems to relate "Swampy Seconds" and "Bring Me the Head of Ranginald Bagel!" , which means "You can't put your sin on others" .
  • Mrs. Weinerman is mentioned by Howard in this episode.
  • Uncle Nooge, who is another unseen Weinerman relative, is mentioned by Howard in this episode.
  • Mort is shown to have put a photo of Heidi and a shabbily made craft from Howard on his office desk.
    • The craft, which was tossed at a Robo-Ape by Randy as the Ninja, seems to be made by Howard when he was younger.
  • Running Gags:
    • Mort telling Ninja or Randy to leave the scene when he has to deal with Howard.
    • McFist not understanding that the Ninja isn't shrunken nor how Stero-dactyls work.
