"McCluckerbusters" is the forty-first episode of the second season (and ninety-third episode overall) of Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja.[1] It premiered on June 8, 2015.[2]

Synopsis[]

Randy and Howard inadvertently start a war that threatens to destroy their two favorite eateries forever.[3]

Plot[]

At PJ McFlubbusters, Randy and Howard are ready to chow down the Secret-O-Double-Stack-Squidbomb burgers, when Randy finds his burger having a beak. He is about to discard it, until Howard takes advantage of the secret rule of getting advantage by reporting disgusting matters from their food so they can order more from the menu for free. The boys begin to get tempted by the prospect, so the Nomicon shloomps Randy in as a warning.

Inside the Nomicon, a doodle Ninja begins to take more pennies from the shopkeeper more pennies than they should, only to lose all the pennies when they are faced by a dragon. With that, the Nomicon lectures to Randy that

"A Ninja takes more than he needs gets more than he wants"

But Randy again only grasps the superficial meaning, much to the Nomicon's irritation.

After vloomped out of the Nomicon, Randy takes advantage of the "gravy-train". Not only have both boys got everything on the PJ McFlubbusters menu, but they also demand to meet PJ McFlubbuster, the owner of the PJ McFlubbusters chain. By taking advantage of Heidi's popularity for Howard's sake, the PJ McFlubbusters staff oblige to their request. Little do the boys know, McFist is in the restaurant the whole time and has eavesdropped them.

Not long after the bros leave the restaurant and on their way to the PJ McFlubbusters factory, they come across Charlie Clucker in a limo. After Charlie gives the bros a deal on stealing PJ McFlubbuster's appetizer ingredient called the Inside-Outside Onion Blossom, the boys play nice to win McFlubbuster's favor, even though surprisingly Howard is the first to start doubting on the "gravy-train". After Randy requests Charlie for reserved parking spots for he and Howard's bikes, Randy and Howard get to tour in PJ McFlubbuster's factory and home, and Randy sneaks into the secret lab while Howard is distracting PJ McFlubbuster. However, Randy accidentally triggers the alarm, so McFlubbuster coerces Randy and Howard into stealing Charlie's secret recipe with a fake onion made out of newspaper.

Howard begins to doubt the "gravy-train" as they head to Charlie Clucker's Chicken Bucket to trick Charlie, but Randy has gotten carried away and snatches the secret recipe, as he and Howard scramble. Soon enough, Charlie realizes the onion blossom he was given is a fake after some testing in the laboratory, and just as McFlubbuster is arguing with Randy about his ridiculous request for more, Charlie arrives to challenge McFlubbuster, prompting the two men to duck it out with each other. Suddenly, a net from a helicopter catches the two restaurant founders, and it turns out pitting them against each other has been McFist's plan the whole time to launch McCluckerbusters, which only sells wraps, by removing both fried food shops from his turf. As Howard blames him for being the one who has taken the "gravy-train" too far, Randy finally understands what the Nomicon means by taking more than he needs.

After a smooth saving of both restaurants and their founders from the Ninja, McFist flees in his limo to avoid his own consequences. Both Charlie and McFlubbuster are miffed at the fact that their respective restaurants are at the wrong spots, but they are still glad to be back in business, and asks what they can reward the Ninja with. Howard agrees with the restaurant founders that it's enough for the gravy-train and drags the Ninja away, while McFist and Viceroy, who was at the dentist for the majority of the episode, know they are stuck with leftover wraps for a long time.

Trivia[]

  • Mcfist states they have enough wraps to last for “5 years or so”, which is ironic, since the show had been cancelled for 5 years by 2020.
  • The title is a reference to the 1984 film and franchise Ghostbusters.
  • The factory of PJ McFlubbusters is similar to the Willy Wonka's chocolate factory from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
  • A doodle of Plop Plop appears in the NinjaNomicon on this episode.
  • When meeting PJ McFlubbusters, Howard bows, but Randy does the curtsy.
  • Heidi Weinerman is revealed to be the third most popular me-caster in Norrisville, as mentioned by Randy in this episode.
  • The Pocahontas leaves from "Ninjception" make a return near the end.
  • This is, by far, one of the very few times where McFist appears without Viceroy appearing for the majority in the episode.
    • However, Viceroy is implied to be on the phone with McFist, who eavesdropped Randy and Howard during the beginning of this episode, but he only makes a minor appearance at the end of the episode.
  • Randy as the Ninja sings the tune of the Ninja Theme Song when saving the two fast food restaurants and their founders.
  • Running Gags:
    • Randy and Howard saying "Choo choo".
    • The secret ingredient or recipe being obvious in the most obvious location possible.
