–Julian, "Sorcerer in Love" | ||
Julian is a supporting character in Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja. He is a freshman student at Norrisville High and the Klub Master of Der Monster Klub.
As of "Snow-Klahoma!," Julian was trapped in the Land of Shadows by Evil Julian, but comes back to Norrisville in "Ball's Well That Friends Well."
Appearance[]
Casual[]
Julian is a tall and lanky, teenage boy with pale-skin, with medium, dark blue hair that surrounds his face. Blunt, curtain bangs over his almond, sapphire blue eyes, giving the false impression that his eyes are down-turned. He wears heavy, black eyeliner with two lashes below each eye. His bulbous, hooked nose being the centerpiece of his face. Fake vampire fangs peek from underneath his overbite.
Julian is cabaret goth: He (almost) always wears a purple tophat that accentuates his height; a small skull hangs atop the lavender band. He wears a purple tailcoat; the collar and lapel are dark blue, the thin cuffs of his sleeves are lavender, a pair of lavender buttons on the sides of his hips. A lightning-bolt necklace over his lavender shirt. Blueish dark gray formal pants and purple Chelsea boots.
Gym[]
During gym class, Julian has a dark blue, letter "N" embroidered on the left side of his chest; the neck, the cuff of his short sleeves and the hem of his white t-shirt are dark blue. He wears matching dark blue shorts with a white tag on his left hose, white ankle socks.
Monster[]
When Julian is stanked by the Sorcerer, he turns into a monster that closely resembles a giant spider; His pale skin turns dark moderate cyan. His eyes glow bright yellow, before extending out of his sockets turning into eye stalks. His fake vampire fangs extend into long protruding fangs, his lower set of teeth become sharp. The back of his tailcoat tear, his sleeves and the hoses of his pants are ripped off, struggling to adapt to his transformation; His lower arms get bigger, his fingers sharpen into claws. His lower body inflates, resembling the abdomen of a giant spider. His legs extend, carrying the weight of his slouched body.
Winter[]
During winter, Julian replaces his tailcoat, removes his necklace, and opts for a purple trench coat; the cuffs, the collar and the lapel are dark blue, with lavender buttons aligned in the center and on his cuffs.
Kid[]
8 years ago, when Julian was a little kid. He wore a darker purple tophat, a small skull hangs atop the lavender band. His oversized, dark purple tailcoat would drag across the floor; the collar and lapel are lavender, his sleeves were too big for his arms. He wore a sky blue shirt underneath, hot pink pants raised all the way over his waist, and dark purple boots.
Personality[]
Julian falls into the "Perky Goth" trope, being a giddy teenager who happens to have an obsession with all things creepy, and has no desire to rein in his gothic obsession and eccentricity, As shown in "The Tale of the Golden Doctor's Note" and the opening sequence, he likes to hide out in lockers hanging upside down, as they are dark, creepy, and "tomb-like" inside, and torture devices excite him. He's in fact eager for doom, as shown in "Monster Drill." It was also revealed in "Der Monster Klub" that Julian has a liking for monsters because of their destructive and vengeful powers, thus his status as the Klub Master in the role-playing game that Der Monster Klub plays.
However, Julian isn't as dark or confident as he would like others to believe. When he accidentally triggers a torture device in "The Tale of the Golden Doctor's Note," he is afraid to die despite having a fondness of death. He is one of Bash's main victims, and is very unpopular at school. Dogs with sunglasses terrify him. As shown in "McFear Factor." When the Sorcerer escapes and finds him in "Randy Cunningham: 13th Century Ninja," he tries to flatter him before being stanked and used as the Sorcerer's ride. He's not very strong, as shown in "Sorcerer in Love," when he was weakly punching the Ninja, who easily blocks him with his hand, because he desired for Amanda.
While different than most students, Julian does get along well with a lot of people, and truly wants to help them, regardless of his extreme measures to achieve his means. Julian cares for the other Klub members because he relates to their struggles with bullies and lack of popularity. Believing that he's helping them, when he humiliates them in order for them to get stanked and take revenge on their bullies. He doesn't seem to know what others think of him; Julian assists Randy and Howard by giving them his map to the Old Gym and joining them to find a golden doctor's note of his own. However, he can come off as overlay clingy and violates other's personal spaces, which can be off-putting for the people he attempts to befriend.
Despite mostly being kind and friendly, Julian does have a secret vengeful drive in his subconscious (but not as evil as his evil counterpart Evil Julian.), as mentioned by how he is fond of the stanked monsters' destructiveness as long as they don't harm him, and the aforementioned way he exposed his Klub friends' humiliating secrets publicly in hopes of hurting them enough to enact revenge as he thinks this is what they desire from their perpetrators. He is very weak-willed when it comes to facing his strong desires, and he can't stand the fact that his desires are being taken away from him in "Julian's Birthday Surprise", which explains the creation behind his evil counterpart Evil Julian. he usually doesn't have the motivation to enact his accumulated resentment.
Relationships[]
Der Monster Klub[]
Julian is a part of the Der Monster Klub with Theresa Fowler, Juggo, and Dave. He has been shown hanging out with them outside Klub meetings; he is seen talking to Theresa at the Bash Splash in "House of 1,000 Boogers," having a sleepover with Juggo in "Der Monster Klub," and standing nervously with Dave at the Dance Beneath the Stars in "Sorcerer in Love." He was also shown sitting with Theresa and Juggo in "Nukid on the Block" and entering the rave with them in "Evil Spirit Week" Understanding his friends' mistreatment and heartache, Julian wants to help them get revenge. So, when Randy accidentally reveals how stanking works in "Der Monster Klub", he apologizes to them before revealing their embarrassing secrets, which gets them stanked. It is unknown if the Klub has forgiven him fully after he publicly humiliated them.
In "M-M-M-my Bologna", at least, he and Juggo are taking care of a baloney, meaning that he and the Klub are still somewhat on good terms despite the incident.
Randy Cunningham/Norrisville Ninja and Howard Weinerman[]
Although they don't interact often, Julian gets along well with Randy and Howard in season 1. He joins forces with Randy and Howard in "The Tale of the Golden Doctor's Note," enjoys their company in "Der Monster Klub," and is impressed when they successfully prank Bash in "Pranks for Nothing."
In "Julian's Birthday Surprise", Howard and Randy are shown to be less supportive to Julian. Although Randy only wants to join Julian's birthday for fun, Howard does not like Julian and warns Randy. When Julian became frightened by Evil Julian, he tries to hang out with Randy and Howard; however, Howard and later, Randy ditched Julian due to his annoying behaviors in "Snow-Klahoma!".
In "Ball's Well That Friends Well", Julian, despite being ditched by both boys before, doesn't seem to bear a grudge against them, and instead tries to explain Howard and Randy (in Ninja Suit) how to leave Land of Shadows and is able to leave the shadow realm and back to Norrisville with them. Compared to Howard, who's still annoyed by Julian, Randy (as the Ninja) is willing to listen and help Julian on their journey to escape from the Land of Shadows.
Julian is usually supportive of the Ninja saving the day. In "Der Monster Klub," however, he pleads that the Ninja doesn't stop his friends from getting their revenge. When Julian doesn't stop, the Ninja ties him up, upsetting Julian badly enough to get him stanked.
Sorcerer[]
In "Randy Cunningham: 13th Century Ninja", Julian is shown to be visibly fearful the Sorcerer, despite having only met him once. Julian also got forcibly stanked by the Sorcerer as a steed, which is enough to imply his later connection with the Land of Shadows.
Evil Julian[]
Julian is notably afraid of his own evil counterpart, when he first notices Evil Julian in "Snow-Klahoma!", where he later gets swapped and trapped in the Land of Shadows. In "Mastermind of Disastermind", he is also reluctant to give information to his evil half. In fact, when he gets to merge with Evil Julian to make himself whole again in "Ball's Well That Friends Well", he is more than happy for that to happen.
Capabilities[]
Chess Playing[]
In the episode "Stanks Like Teen Spirit", it is shown that Julian is a member of Norrisville High’s chess club, which shows that he has a decent level of chess playing skills.
Sculpting[]
In the episode "Sorcerer in Love", Julian sculpted a bat, or as he quoted: "Nyctimene robinsoni, the tube-nosed bat. Sculpted from ear wax!" In the episode "Snow-Klahoma!", Julian sculpted a snowman out of the dandruff on the top of his head.
Theremin Playing[]
In the episode "30 Seconds to Math", Julian comes on stage to perform on a theremin, before Bash & the Bros throw oranges at him. In the episode "Sorcerer in Love 2: The Sorceress's Revenge", he can be seen playing a theremin-themed arcade game labeled "Theremin Hero."
