"Fart-Topia" is the fortieth episode of the first season of Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja. It premiered on October 26, 2013.

Synopsis[]

When Randy helps Hannibal McFist’s hippy brother Terry take control of McFist Industries, Whoopee World is turned into a fart-powered nightmare.

Plot[]

As usual during their school day, Howard, while having told a story about his Uncle Nood being arrested for a crime he didn't commit, tells his best friend that he has two Whoopee World tickets for themselves, and also chastises Randy for always going on motor whenever Howard himself is speaking. However, Howard jinxes the fact that Randy spots the Hovercraft and has transformed into the Ninja just to catch up with his arch-nemesis.

The Hovercraft soon reaches Dudikoff Woods, and McFist and Viceroy arrive at Terry's home, where they annually send him the document to hand over McFist Industries to McFist. Terry is too hippie to remember as he lets his goat eat his fax and also the in-person document, so Viceroy has to fetch the backup document while McFist follows with his scientist to avoid scrubbing Terry's butts. As Ninja has overheard Terry's prospect of wind power and also wants to get rid of McFist from his proximity, he decides that he should let Terry inherit the company instead. Of course, the Nomicon warns Randy of teaming up with an unknown ally with the lesson:

"An unknown ally can be more dangerous than the known enemy"

But Randy thinks that Terry is too chill to be dangerous and disregards the warning anyway. Afterwards, he as the Ninja, after getting away from Terry's pet goat who is chewing his scarf, persuades Terry to take over the company and not sign the waiver document to prove Father McFist wrong.

After Randy returns to Howard, Howard is surprised that he was talking to himself for twenty minutes straight, but Randy is more reassured that nothing can go wrong with replacing McFist with Terry. However, it turns out Whoopee World has been changed into "Windeee World", which is actually a fart-powered theme park, and McFist is forced to be the Whoopee World mascot instead. Unfortunately, while the boys soon realize fart-power for running a theme park is unsustainable with the constantly pausing rides, Terry gets carried away with the perks of being a businessman. When the cows aren't giving enough fart-power, Terry soon orders his Monk-Bots to capture visitors by giving them prune smoothies for supplying him with farts.

Randy tries finding Howard, only to notice he has recently farted and had smoothies after seeing that his best friend is missing. He then notices the other visitors have been caught and transforms into the Ninja to investigate. He finally realizes Howard and the other visitors are all endangered by Terry, who plans to collect their farts and conquer the world by turning the world into a "fart-topia". Realizing that Terry has gotten too carried away, Ninja, after hearing Howard's plea on saving him, decides to confront Terry and slice the available Monk-Bots. But Viceroy just has to tell Terry that the fart-collector is a Robo-Tick, much to McFist's exasperation on how overachieving Viceroy can be. Ninja, having no choice on how to fix his mistake after understanding Nomicon's lesson, reluctantly bands in with McFist. With McFist narrowly dodging the Hot Balls, the Robo-Tick explodes after being kicked away by the Ninja, obliterating Whoopee World but saving all the citizens.

Witnessing the collateral damage he has done, Terry regrets not listening to his father, as he finally realizes his own flaws and how unfit he is to be a businessman. Seeing that Terry is returning to the hippie lifestyle, McFist is giddy about having the company back, and resumes being enemies with Ninja. In the end, Randy, after reflecting on how McFist and his family are all crazy and how different people have different perspectives on farts, gets frustrated with Howard's bragging on how wise he is and leaves Howard behind.

Characters[]

Main characters[]

Secondary characters[]

Background characters[]

Series Continuity[]

  • Randy references a previously learnt lesson, " To avoid an attack, you must avoid the attack", when he was able to be surrounded on both sides by robots. The first time he applied this lesson was during the events of "The Tale of the Golden Doctor's Note".

Trivia[]

  • The episode's title parodies Sir Thomas More's 1516 book Utopia, the title of which has become the common name for any ideal imaginary country or society.
  • It is revealed that McFist has an older brother, Terry, who is the rightful owner of McFist Industries, but he signs the business over to McFist once every year.
  • Howard is revealed to have an Uncle called Uncle Nood in this episode.
  • Viceroy mentions Mother Viceroy in this episode, about how she said overachieving is one of his finest qualities.
  • Father McFist is mentioned by Terry in this episode, before his flashback appearance in "McOne Armed and Dangerous".
  • One of Randy's implied ADHD symptoms is showcased in this episode, which is going on motor involuntarily. An analogous example also happened in "30 Seconds to Math", where he similarly acted on the drive without realizing why, which was also pointed out by Howard. (More symptoms listed in his trivia)
  • Running Gags:
    • McFist wanting Terry to sign the contract.
    • Characters saying "Fart power" with different euphemisms.
