Ben Cross (born 16 December 1947 - August 18 2020) was an English actor of the stage and screen, known for his portrayal of the British Olympic athlete Harold Abrahams in the 1981 film Chariots of Fire.

Early Life[]
Cross was born Harry Bernard Cross in London to a working class Catholic family. His mother was a cleaning woman and his father a doorman and nurse. He began acting at a very young age and participated in school plays. Cross was educated at Bishop Thomas Grant secondary modern school in Streatham, South London.
Career[]
Cross would later become heavily involved in directing, acting, screenwriting, and music, such as acting in Star Trek and voice acting in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Cross died from cancer in Vienna on 18 August 2020, at age 72.

- Ben replaced Tim Curry, who voiced the Sorcerer for most of Season 1.
- Ben is the third known cast member of the series to have passed away. The first was Elaine Stritch and the second John Witherspoon.
